Ans: Even if biopsy of prostate has excluded cancer, it is wise to keep an eye on the PSA value periodically. Sometimes your urologist may need to repeat biopsy after few months. |
| Ques:I have been told that I have ‘early cancer of prostate, what is the best method of treatment? |

Ans: The best treatment for ‘Early cancer Prostate’ is to get the diseased organ out of the body-‘Radical Prostatectomy’. Robotic or Laparoscopic operation may be performed for this. However, the medical fitness must be assessed before going on for this kind of surgery. |

Ans: After robotic operation for cancer of prostate, it is not unusual to lose control on urination. Most people would regain control in 3-6 months period. It is rare to not have control beyond this period. |
| Ques:I have been found to have a tumour in my kidney, but I have no problem. Should I undergo an operation for removal of this tumour? |

Ans: You must feel fortunate to have found a tumour in the kidney before the tumour announced itself by way of symptoms. This must be removed at the earliest before it spreads and causes irreversible damage. |
| Ques:I have been having blood in my urine for last few weeks, but I have no pain or other discomfort, is it something serious? |

Ans: Blood in the urine without pain is a bad symptom. One must get thoroughly investigated to exclude the cancer of the urinary organs. |
| Ques:I have undergone removal of a tumour from my urinary bladder, can it come back again? |

Ans: The cancer of urinary bladder lining can re occur even after removal of bladder. This could occur in ureter, kidneys and the Lymph nodes. Strict follow-up is therefore necessary. |

Ans: Smoking has been linked with occurrence of cancer of urinary bladder. |
